About Visaboard

visaboard.com is a service of skillandtalent GmbH i.G. based in Berlin. Our goal is to support students globally in navigating the formalities and interaction with authorities involved in organizing their work or study stays abroad.

Due to our home base Berlin we are currently mainly dedicated to handling the application process required to obtain work permits in Germany for students seeking to do a study related internship in Germany. We will be expanding our service to also cover additional target countries and types of visa for internships abroad globally:

  • J-1 visa sponsorship  for internship and training in the USA
  • Internship visa UK (UK Border Agency Tier 5)
  • Working Holiday visa Canada
  • Work & Travel visa for Australia and New Zealand

Besides the work permit and visa application activities of visaboard.com, skillandtalent GmbH i.G. also operates the internet portal rocketinternships.com (international internship placements) and  NGOplacements.org (volunteering placements at NGOs globally). The two co-founders Olaf Börner and Daniel Nippes have themselves done several internships abroad during their studies at universities in Germany and abroad and have been involved in the field of international training and education during their later careers.

Olaf Börner

Prior to founding skillandtalent Olaf has been helping young people and students to fulfill their dream of a stay abroad while working at an international exchange organization for many years. In parallel he founded homestaybooking.com a successful international platform for booking homestays at private host families worldwide that brings together thousands of young travelers and students and host families every year. Before that he worked for different companies (e.g. Amazon, Unilever) in their Marketing and Sales departments. Olaf studied at the university of Münster and at the Lund School of Economics and Management in Lund, Sweden. He holds a Masters degree in Economics.

Daniel Nippes

Daniel has spent a major part of his high school years abroad in Venezuela and India and experienced the challenges of moving to a foreign environment and adapting to it first hand. After returning to Germany he focused his studies on IT and Operations Research. He then joined Daimler Financial Services where we worked in the Central and Eastern European region of the car makers operations. Later he moved on to Consulting and worked for several years for the international management Consulting firm Bain & Company in several regions and industries. Daniel holds a Master in Industrial Engineering from the university of Karlsruhe and a MBA from Insead in Singapore.
